World Dodgeball Champion visits PPF Sports Camp
Pickering Playing Fields’ 2014 Ultimate Sports Camp is off to a great start! Our first group of campers were treated to a special visit from two-time World Dodgeball Champion Jason Mergler, who has represented Canada internationally and will be travelling to Las Vegas in August to compete for a $20,000 grand prize. The kids spent the afternoon learning how to dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge like pros and ended the day with a water balloon fight, slushies and autographs.
This week’s camp has already begun, with golf lessons in the morning and a variety of sports in the afternoon. With all of the World Cup action over the last month, the kids have been practicing their best soccer moves – and penalty kicks!
